You launched your own beauty brand in the spring of this year. How did this come about?

Steph Adams Beauty came about as I was searching for the perfect type of pale gloss that was also moisturising, and I could never find it. So I finally created my own. It took a year of planning what I wanted to add to the beauty brand. The champagne gloss has now become the biggest seller. The glosses were worn in Cannes on the red carpet as well as in Paris for Fashion Week. I have also launched a serum and face palette with more on the way.

You attended Cannes this year - which events did you attend, and what is your overall impression of the festivities?

The Festival de Cannes is an exciting time of year. I was very lucky to walk the red carpet for the screening of Triangle of Sadness during the
75th annual Cannes Film Festival. The fascinating thing for me is the incredible talent surrounding the festival from the scriptwriters, producers and other people who have put so much time and effort into making each of these films happen. I attended some incredible events from Le Grand Diner at JW Marriot, Forbes France, Campari, Fashion TV, Rose Baie, Jitrois and Leonardo Di Caprio’s house party.

You sat front row at Dior’s show during Paris Fashion Week. Would you say Dior is your favourite designer? What were your impressions of the show?

I felt very honoured to attend and sit in the front row for the Dior Haute Couture show this year. Dior has always been one of my favourite designers because there is always so much meaning behind each collection. This year Maria Grazia Chiuri worked with Ukrainian artist Olesia Trofymenko for the Haute Couture collection. She wanted to support and spotlight the work of an artist in the time of war. The collection was romantic, and the reference to embroidery is inspired by Ukrainian folk costumes. The Tree of Life was used as an emblematic theme, as it occurs across many cultures and religions. It speaks about the circle of life. Christian Dior’s foundation story was that he set up his couture
house right after World War II. It was a beautiful show with long silhouettes, blouses, big sleeves, and capes floating down the runway. Bar Jackets were constructed from finely pleated hand-smocking with long flowing silk dresses in beige, white and black.

How has your fashion style changed over the years, and has it been influenced by your time spent in Paris?

My style has always been fairly simplistic, and I have always steered away from fashion trends, but spending so much time in Paris most certainly has influenced my style over the years. The Parisians have an elegant and sexy way of dressing, without revealing too much skin.

It has been quite an eventful year so far. What else do you have planned?

I will be back in Paris in September, and there is something exciting in the works! I’m not slowing down anytime soon.
