11 Destination Fashion Shows in 2024

Carolina Herrera is jetting off to Mexico City for the presentation of the Cruise 2025 collection. The brand hosted its first destination show last year as part of the Cruise 2024 season with a buzzy unveiling in sunny Rio de Janeiro.

The Cruise 2025 show marks the first occasion Carolina Herrera is presenting in line with the house's in-store calendar. This fact, coupled with a destination show in the works for the second year in a row, bodes well for the future of the label. 

While few details have been revealed surrounding the specific location of the show, Carolina Herrera has announced that the Cruise 2025 runway presentation will take place on November 14, just a few short weeks after the Spring/Summer 2025 runway as part of New York Fashion Week. Fans of the label can expect vibrant, effortlessly chic resort fashions from Carolina Herrera's second destination runway show for the Cruise 2025 season and more details on the collection as the Mexico City unveiling date approaches. 

Ami has announced its plans to return to China this season with a repeat show in Suzhou on April 10. The show, which will be set against the backdrop of the historic Xiangmen Wall, will feature the Fall/Winter 2024 collection. 

Designated as a UNESCO Creative City and known as a metropolis with a rich cultural history, Suzhou lies just 100 miles west of Shanghai—also an increasingly popular fashion destination—and is home to the Classical Gardens as well as the historic Pingjiang Road. 

Ami has previously presented its Spring/Summer 2020 collection in Shanghai and boasts 18 brick-and-mortar stores in China, with the most recent location opening in Suzhou in November 2023. As a label with a large Chinese consumer base, the brand aims to deepen its connection with the region through this upcoming repeat show. 

Following the brand's eye-catching holiday light display at Saks Fifth Avenue, Dior is keeping its claim on New York this year as they plan to host their Pre-Fall 2024 show on April 15 at the Brooklyn Museum. 

The collection is a celebration of the French fashion house's ties to America, especially New York City.

"Celebrating the passion [Dior’s] designer-founder always had for this fascinating American metropolis, this mesmerizing show will be staged in the heart of Brooklyn Museum, reaffirming the symbolic, powerful alliance that unites Dior with this iconic institution,” a spokesperson for LVMH stated.

Reemphasizing the theme of travel at the luxury fashion house, Louis Vuitton will be jetting off to Asia on April 18 to showcase its Pre-Fall 2024 collection. 

Hosted in the city of Shanghai, LV hopes to honor the brand's long-lasting relationship with China after more than 30 years since the first storefront opened in Beijing in 1992. 

The founder of the brand, Louis Vuitton first made a name for himself back in the 19th century with his original luggage collection of trunks and travel boxes. 

After his return to New York Fashion Week last September, Ralph Lauren is heading home again for his Fall/Holiday 2024 collection with a show in New York on April 29. Born in the Bronx, the designer has long used his hometown as a source of inspiration, but he seems to be leaning into his roots more these days. Though the venue has not been announced, the event is expected to be intimate and allude to the iconic city.

Chanel is ready to set sail to the south of France to present their Cruise 2025 collection on May 2. Hosting the show in the oldest city of France, Marseille is the quintessential place to showcase and celebrate the culture on the Mediterranean coast. 

Chanel has been known to bring their collections around the world, including past runs in Les Baux-de-Provence, Monte-Carlo, and Los Angeles. 

The iconic luxury house had one of the more recent announcements of their special location for their annual Cruise collection. Last year, they hosted in Seoul to honor their ties to South Korean style, and this year they're taking it back a few centuries. 

Gucci will showcase its Cruise 2025 collection this May at the Tate Modern art gallery in London, a city with special ties to the brand dating back to 1897 when founder Guccio Gucci took a job in London as a luggage porter for the wealthy. Through that experience, Gucci found inspiration for the designs and ideas that would be at the core of his brand. Creative Director Sabato de Sarno is eager to honor the city's rich history and connection to Gucci. The Cruise 2025 show is set to take place on May 13. 

In addition to its Shanghai show, Louis Vuitton is set to work with Barcelona for its Cruise 2025 show, honoring the heritage and creativity of both the city and brand. This destination event will take place on May 23 with the latest innovations from Artistic Director of Women's Collections Nicolas Ghesquière focusing on the "Art of Travel." Though the venue is yet to be announced, the show will set the stage for the House's 37th America's Cup, an international sailing competition, and a series of future collaborations.

Mark your calendars for May 30 as Balenciaga intends to reveal its Spring/Summer 2025 collection for both men and women early in the captivating locale of Shanghai. Demna is stepping out of his comfort zone with Shanghai, as previous destination ventures at Balenciaga have been hosted in New York and Los Angeles under his leadership. However, it's an understandable choice considering that China currently houses the most Balenciaga store locations.

Dior announced that the debut of its Cruise 2025 collection will be hosted in a garden setting in the beautiful landscape of Scotland. Mark your calenders for June 3 to embark on a whimsical garden tea party at the Drummond Castle, known for its picturesque location.

Last year's Cruise collection was hosted in Mexico City to celebrate the culture and diversity Mexico brings to the fashion industry. This year, Dior will embrace its ties to the UK and jet off into the future of fashion. 

After a star-studded Spring 2024 show in the South of France, Simon Porte Jacquemus will celebrate the 15th anniversary of the brand at Casa Malaparte, a modern Italian villa on a clifftop in Capri. The scenic location is an ode to one of Jacquemus' favorite films, "Contempt" by Jean-Luc Godard, a French New Wave classic in which the star Brigitte Bardot sunbathed nude on the villa's rooftop. The venue has been the site of fashion campaigns and has long inspired designers, but June 10 will be the first time it hosts a fashion show.

Max Mara intends to unveil its Cruise 2025 on June 11 in one of Italy's most picturesque cities, Venice. The luxury fashion house will take the floating city and make it its own, with details on a precise location still undisclosed.

The destination fashion show is set to overlap with the Pitti Uomo trade show in Florence, showcasing Max Mara's influence during key moments in the fashion industry.
