Oasis of the Soul: St. Regis Maldives Vommuli Resort
The St. Regis Maldives Vommuli is situated on a private island isolated from the outside world in the Dhaalu Atoll of the Maldives archipelago. The overwater resorts there take luxury to a new level, and the ocean there is a turquoise bluer than anywhere else in the world. The Maldives, which consist of 99% of water and 1% of land, have roughly 1200 islands, of which 200 are inhabited. Numerous thriving coral reefs are sheltered by many of those other islands. Could this location actually exist on Earth?
St. Regis is considered one of the most well-known hotel brands. It is famous worldwide for its dedication to tradition: polished uniformed butlers, white-glove service, seamless check-in assistance, 5-star deluxe, immersive experiences, and an incredible culture of excellence. Due to the resort's seclusion, the only ways for guests to reach the atoll are by seaplane or the resort's private luxury yacht. When guests arrive in Male, the Maldives' capital, they are greeted by a friendly hotel representative who quickly takes their bags and walks them over to the Trans Maldivian counter to check them in for their seaplane ride to the resort.
The resort consists of 77 luxuriously appointed private villas with a magnificent setting on Dhaalu Atoll, one of the least exploited and most untouched atolls in the Maldives. Taking inspiration from nature, the resort's interior evokes a sense of tropical island village living that will blow you off your feet. Among the architecture: a whale shark-inspired signature bar, manta ray-shaped overwater villas, an overwater spa in the form of a lobster, and a spiral shell-shaped library. Some buildings were even made based on cultural symbols. For example, some coastal villas along the southern part of the atoll were designed in the shape of Maldivian Dhoni Boats. These stunning designs were created by WOW architects from Singapore.
Tranquil beach with the alluring waters of the Indian Ocean, plentiful sun loungers, and poolside cabanas await the guests along the lagoon-shaped outdoor infinity pool that reveals an unrestricted view of the exclusive white-sand beach.
The food is exceptional Michelin-Star quality, with no less than six different dining venues. Among the 3 main restaurants, guests can choose between the Asian venue Orientale, the pop-up restaurant Cargo offering Middle-Eastern cuisine, or Alba, a modern Italian restaurant.
For more adventures and unparalleled experiences, the resort offers deep-sea fishing, kayaking, speed boating, parasailing, jet skiing, kitesurfing, wakeboarding, sea-bob, catamaran sailing, and windsurfing. The Vommuli Dive & Watersports Center ensures the smooth running of those activities by ensuring safety and professionally certified staff.
