Saint Laurent's First Fine Jewellery Collection Has Launched
After many fashion houses stepped into the glorious world of jewellery, Saint Laurent has finally joined them as the latest high fashion, which launched its fine jewellery collection. Saint Laurent Haute Joaillerie collection is a first for the French brand, designed by creative director Anthony Vaccarello and defined by timelessness and novelty.
The Saint Laurent Haute Joaillerie collection features rings, earrings, cuffs and necklaces designed and crafted with painstakingly selected yellow gold, white gold, diamonds and precious stones. Besides the references YSL gives to many unforgettable fashion shows, the timeless designs in the collection also point to the many key motifs of the brand, such as Cassandre and Maillon. Furthermore, the dynamism in the designs, from necklaces and rings with YSL's logo to sharp lines and metal-weighted pieces, emphasizes the timeless and noble stance of fine jewellery.
Juergen Teller, who shot the campaign, is also the talent being the incredible looks. The chunky bangles he paired with sleek jersey evening gowns make the fine jewellery items stand out in the campaign. He also revealed no limit to increasing the powerful effect of the accessories used and the pieces they stack on top of each other.
Following Prada, Balmain and Gucci, the brands that launched their fine jewellery collections in respect seasons, Saint Laurent's grand entrance to the fine jewellery market would inevitably change the balance. Considering many pioneer brands, including Dior and Chanel, that have produced their collections way before, they managed to dominate the red carpet with their iconic jewellery designs. However, with the footsteps of Saint Laurent beginning to be heard, there is no doubt that a new competitor is emerging in the world of high jewellery.
The designs in the collection are available online and in selected Saint Laurent stores, with prices ranging from £800 to £40,000.
