Rethinking The Royal High Jewellery: Boucheron's Histoires De Style Collection
The oldest jewellery house of Place Vendôme, Boucheron's one of the recent collections of 'Histoire de Style, Like a Queen' is taking its inspiration from Princess Elizabeth's 18th birthday gift while giving references from a period in Boucheron's history.
Princess Elizabeth, who turned eighteen in 1944, received two precious and sentimental gifts she would continue to use throughout her reign: a Boucheron aquamarine and a diamond double-clip brooch. Afterwards, these breathtaking designs were presented to Queen Elizabeth II and remained an accessory she preferred to use at crucial moments of her reign. Thus, this inspiration from the style icons of the royal family encouraged Boucheron's Creative Director, Claire Choisne, to interpret a new collection in 2020 with eighteen contemporary designs. The "Like a Queen" high jewellery collection reinterprets the famous Art Deco design during the creation process. The jewellery house's unique, unexpected material uses and unimaginable techniques pay homage to the royal family.

The cuff design, which is almost identical to the brooches of 1937, and the 6-carat Ceylon sapphire with the same deep blue colour add a modern reference to the texture of the past.
With diamond, rock crystal and gold features in the collection, the necklace can easily be turned into a coat ornament or a cloak clasp so that you dare to experiment with high jewellery.
In the Art Deco-designed ring set, which refined tastes can readily appreciate, the 6.25-carat Zambian emerald achieves a unique harmony with platinum. As a result, you can wear the fine line of green lacquer ring with or without the diamond surrounding it and with the help of detachable quality emerald earrings, the design alone on the ear as desired.
This necklace design, where the eye-catching ruby and diamond meet, can be turned into a brooch with the ornament gathered in the centre. The necklace, which comes with earrings and a ring, reinterprets royal jewels and offers a modern design.
With the references to the 1937 model, the use of white diamonds on white gold promises sophisticated elegance as a buckle or brooch, while the contrasting harmony created with a yellow leather ribbon carries this design to the 21st century that can turn into a choker and a bracelet.
The elegant iridescence of the Akoya pearl and the intense diamond sparkle come together in the form of a three-string necklace. When the diamond-encrusted Art Deco clasp at the centre is separated, it can become a brooch, a hair ornament, worn on a tuxedo collar and even used as a pair of earrings.
One of the most striking pieces of the collection that defies gender norms, is appreciated with the intense pink of tourmalines. It can be pinned together as a single brooch or separated and made into two pieces.
