Rosemary Oil: The Miracle Elixir for Long, Strong Hair and Eyelashes
Rosemary oil is trendy. It is said to be the miracle cure for fast hair growth and long eyelashes. But what is behind it?
There is a real boom in social media about rosemary oil. Instagram and other social media sites are full of videos and photos of full hair and long eyelashes. It is considered a real growth booster, supposed to strengthen the length, make the hair grow faster and care for the scalp. But does it really help?
What is rosemary oil?
Rosemary is often used as a spice in the kitchen. An essential oil can also be extracted from the leaves of a rosemary plant through steam distillation. Rosemary is a medicinal plant that has been used as a natural medicine since ancient times. It is particularly popular as an oil in the beauty sector. Either as a pure oil, mixed oil or as an additive in skin and hair care products.
Does hair grow faster with rosemary oil?
Rosemary oil has anti-inflammatory, circulation-promoting and antibacterial properties. Good circulation stimulates the hair follicles and hair roots. This leads to improved absorption of nutrients and thus promotes hair growth and, in turn, reduces hair loss. This also applies to our eyelashes!
Rosemary oil also cares for stressed scalps, stimulates cell renewal and maintains the skin's natural balance. This means that dandruff is fought. A treatment with rosemary oil also reduces sebum production, which means that the hair becomes greasy much more slowly and therefore needs to be washed less often.
How to use rosemary oil for hair and eyelashes?
Since rosemary oil is an essential oil, it can cause allergic irritation. Before use, it is important to test compatibility on a small area of skin. It is especially important not to use pure essential oil on eyelashes. They can irritate the eyes and cause inflammation.
When buying rosemary oil, make sure that it contains few additives so that it does not irritate the skin unnecessarily. A pure, organic essential oil (free of pesticides and other plant protection products) is the best choice. This can enhance your care products . Alternatively, there are now countless products that contain rosemary oil.
