Digital Cover Story: Interview with Maren Tschinkel and Nathalie Dahn
What was your most memorable experience during the shooting of your favorite model-campaign?
When I shooted the cover of Harpers bazaar I stayed on a farm in the middle of Mallorca. I got woken up for my shoot by a chicken instead of my alarm. I love to be surrounded by animals and I remember I came back from this shoot like as it was the most recovering holidays instead of work!
What do you enjoy most of the modeling?
I love to travel and meet so many different people and get to know different cultures. It truly is an education in the same way.

I started my modeling career with winning the Miss Germany in 2018. After this I got signed with many agencies worldwide.
What is your greatest fear, and how do you manage fear?
My greatest fear is to get sick! I try everything to keep my soul and my body healthy. Besides that I workout everyday and eat healthy, I surround myself with positivity and do things that make my heart and soul happy!

Failure is part of our life and helps us to grow and learn from it. I take every failure as an advise for my life and move on.

In my opinion a person is successful if you are happy with what you are doing in life. Happiness is the biggest success you can achieve!
You have a lot of Social Media fans. How do you feel about and encourage people to follow their dreams?
I am posting my daily life on social media and I want to encourage the people who follow me to focus on a healthy lifestyle as I do. In the same way I try to spread happiness and positivity.
How do you keep in shape?
I am working out every day. I am very consistent with that! No matter where I am i follow my daily routine which is a healthy breakfast and a workout in the morning. Since I have a trainer license I used to give workouts professionally during my studies but the modeling requires a lot of traveling so I had to give up on that.
What is that one thing you can’t live without?
My family and my true friends ! Besides that the moments that I carry in my head as the most beautiful memories that I’ve made in my life. Sharing them with the people I love and that always remembers how beautiful life is !

What do you enjoy most of the modeling?
The sense of freedom I have to be myself in front of the camera, and meeting and working with some of the most creative and inspiring people in the world.
Tell us more about the begin of your career as model.
When I was 18 I moved to NYC to pursue modeling, it was always a life long dream of mine. I was lucky to have people that believed in me and pushed me - before I knew it I was walking NYFW and landed my first magazine covers. It’s all still very exciting and I’m very grateful.
What did you learn from your biggest failure?
To accept set-backs, and embrace them. To not get yourself down about it but instead use it to spur a greater drive to do even better in the future!
Success is such a subjective concept that everyone likely views differently.
How do you define success?
Seeing the glass half-full. I’m a very positive person and to me happiness and peace is the ultimate success. That involves waking up every morning excited and ready to seize the day. Carpe Diem!
You have a lot of Social Media fans. How do you feel about and encourage people to follow their dreams?
Everyone is so unique and has something unique to share with the world. Self expression is freedom and I genuinely encourage and celebrate everyone that shares their magic with the world. We all deserve to shine!
How do you keep in shape?
Holistic nutrition is the cornerstone of my day to day, and incorporating fun exercise activities. Biking, rollerblading, swimming and group dance classes are amongst my favorites. Also Yoga to balance and ground yourself. When you feel good, you look good and vice versa.
What is your time management philosophy?
I’m a follower of the 80/20 rule. Prioritize, plan, execute - and delegate the rest. I decide on the most important goals and which specific tasks I need to focus on to align with these goals. I’m also an avid user of to-do lists, they help me hold myself accountable.
What is that one thing you can’t live without?
Apart from the love from my family and friends I would have to say my to-do lists, whiteboards, and posters/ vision boards. I love staying organized and handwritten texts is for me the most effective way to stay on top of things.
How did you two super models meet?
We met on a photoshoot that we had in Bali. It was super fun to be in such an epic location, we immediately hit it off and became friends.
What keeps your friendship alive while living both so fare away from each other?
Consistency is key, we really value our friendship and keeping it up comes easy when we always have fun new stories to share with each other. We also always can count on the other for advice which is great.
Are you Seeing each other also as concurrent?
Never! We are a perfect team, always pushing and supporting each other. We also find we compliment each other aka every blondie needs a brownie.
Do you feel more connected coming from the same country?
Definitely it makes us feel connected but there is a lot more that connects us together!
What is your favorite thing to do together?
Maren: “spending time alone with Nathalie, when we do our girls time and travel together only me and her!”
Nathalie: “I love our girls trips, we have a very same sense of humor and that really comes out when we’re one-on-one.”
