Aelis Couture Spring Summer 2022 Collection

Light is at the center of the reflection that traces the plot of the collection. Nyx, the greek goddess of the night, introduces the new season of Aelis. This time Sofia Crociani decides to work on memory. The memory is intended as an evocative element, capable of creating action, memory as an element that nourishes the future.

For Sofia Crociani, the expressive subject has always been linked to the evocative search for memory and knowledge. For this reason, in the new Spring Summer 2022 collection, the manifesto, which describes the rules of Maison's work, returns to the center of the creative path. The cultural and temporal contaminations that accompany the creations presented this season are inscribed in the evolutionary research of the Maison and highlight the ethical and ecological commitment which are the foundations of the Aelis Art-Couture.

The collection overview video takes place within the rightfully matching dynamics and rhythm, while the models act as the absolute interpreters. The musical composition of Stefan Hristov Mr.Smiff signifies a central presence of the rhythm in a counterpoint to the slow motion of the video itself. The models walk in the darkness where a monumental work by Olafur Eliasson and a minimal light by Gabriele Dal Dosso trace the path in the stone and marble halls. The rhinestones present sequences of light on the clothes, lighting up in the reflection of the flashes.

Sofia collaborates with Jean Michel Mergey for the choice of young models capable of conveying the message of Aelis through their daily and personal commitment to being responsible for respecting nature and the planet. Tora, Hanel-Le, and Nika become ambassadors of the Aelis message, which raises awareness that collectively we can all contribute to change our attitude and re-establish a non-invasive balance of human activities towards nature.

The clothes are created in the eco-ethical respect of the Maison with particular attention to upcycling. A family wedding dress is broken down into a series of elements that give life to one new creation. Chains and rhinestones created by Les Intéressants for Aelis are worn on a hooded sweatshirt. Ancient over-necks from the early 1900s in embroidered cotton are combined with a rhinestone necklace resting on the neckline of an oversized tunic in organic silk duchess satin. The feathers collected patiently by a friend, dyed with avocado skin, are combined in a flesh-pink boa that adorns a diaphanous silk tulle dress, worn over vintage denim shorts in memory of Kurt Kobain.
