Designer Alena Chipura discusses her innovative approach to fashion, blending luxury with everyday wear and her exciting plans for global expansion.

For SS25, designer Alena Chipura has taken this vision to new heights, merging couture with sport-inspired elements to create a collection that is both luxurious and effortlessly wearable.
In an exclusive interview with L'Officiel Cyprus, Alena opens up about her journey, the creative process behind B&Uuml;RO UNIQUE, and her plans to take the brand to international markets, including Cyprus.

B&Uuml;RO UNIQUE has quickly become a standout in the fashion world. What inspired you to create the brand, and how would you describe its identity?
 B&Uuml;RO UNIQUE literally means a "studio of unique pieces." In a world filled with the "ordinary," I wanted to create something truly exceptional&mdash;whether it's a casual piece or an evening gown&mdash;each item has a distinct uniqueness in its cut, detailing, and finish. The inspiration came from my desire to express my own vision of style and wardrobe possibilities.
The idea really took off when I began designing pieces for myself, and people started asking where I had gotten them. It was clear that my designs were striking a chord with others, and that led me to create the brand. It was all about capturing that interest and transforming it into something tangible.

Your collections often blend bold ideas with impeccable craftsmanship. How do you balance creativity with practicality?
 Creativity and practicality are both essential to what I do. I believe that stunning clothes must also be comfortable and versatile. The same garment can be dressed up or down depending on how you style it&mdash;whether through accessories or footwear. For me, it&rsquo;s all about mixing the unexpected: a casual item can become an elegant piece with the right fabric or design twist. Of course, evening gowns have a different purpose&mdash;they are meant to wow and create that WOW effect!

Your recent show at Moscow Fashion Week was a huge success. How long did you prepare, and what was the concept behind it?
 When I prepare for a show, I immerse myself entirely in the process. I don&rsquo;t look at what others are doing&mdash;my focus is solely on my own vision of fashion and style. For the new Chic &amp; Sport collection, I wanted to explore the combination of two seemingly opposing elements&mdash;sportswear and evening couture. I wanted to show that fashion is all about perception; you can take something sporty and elevate it into an elegant, cocktail-ready outfit with the right materials, cuts, and accessories. The response from Moscow Fashion Week was amazing, and we&rsquo;ve already had a waiting list for pre-orders until spring. It&rsquo;s clear that we&rsquo;ve found a way to merge everyday wear with evening elegance.

Your designs often have architectural shapes and surprising details. How do you stay ahead of trends, and what influences your creative process?
 I often hear that my designs anticipate trends. Sometimes I&rsquo;ll sketch out ideas, and months later, I see similar concepts on the global runways. It's hard to explain, but I think it&rsquo;s about having a fashion instinct&mdash;a deep understanding of what&rsquo;s happening now and what will resonate in the future. It&rsquo;s like an art form&mdash;you either have it, or you don&rsquo;t.
Intuition plays a key role in my work, and I trust it completely. It&rsquo;s never let me down. For me, fashion is not just about the technical aspects of tailoring&mdash;it&rsquo;s about art. And that's why we produce pieces in limited runs; each creation is truly a work of art. Some of our designs are exclusive, made in just one piece.

Do you have a personal connection to Cyprus? Is B&Uuml;RO UNIQUE planning to expand there?
 Cyprus holds a special place in my heart. I lived in Limassol for a few years during my childhood and it had a profound impact on my perspective and creative sensibilities. Even after moving back to Russia, I&rsquo;ve continued to visit, and I still have many friends and fond memories there.
As for B&Uuml;RO UNIQUE, we&rsquo;ve always had a global outlook. We have loyal clients from all over the world, including Cyprus. I&rsquo;d be thrilled to explore potential partnerships on the island. We&rsquo;re always open to collaborating with like-minded individuals who share our vision.

 B&Uuml;RO UNIQUE collections reflect my own understanding of fashion, style, and identity. Creating these collections is not just about business; it&rsquo;s about expressing myself creatively. I&rsquo;m an artist, and for me, each piece is a form of artistic expression. This is what sets B&Uuml;RO UNIQUE apart&mdash;it's not just fashion; it&rsquo;s a form of personal storytelling, and every design reflects my journey, both personally and creatively.
