Jetex has truly redefined the concept of a private jet terminal and taken it global. L'Officiel talked to Jetex Founder & CEO Adel Mardini about the company’s uniqueness and plans for the future.

What is your vision for this sector of aviation?

Jetex was the first company to redefine an FBO (fixed-base operator) concept into a modern private jet terminal. After 100 years, the traditional FBO concept has become outdated, and we must move on, re-develop and take it further. This was my vision when we opened our first terminal, Jetex Paris, at Le Bourget airport in 2009. Today, we operate more than 35 private jet terminals around the world. Business-wise, we have a lot of competitors. However, when it comes down to service, we have none. For example, there are more than 1,000 FBOs in the United States, but none of them implement the Jetex level of luxury. By being persistent and demanding in our approach to quality, we have redefined the industry and immediately elevated our reputation.

Jetex terminals are inspired by the most sensational luxury hotel lobbies. When one books a top hotel suite or villa, the cost can be $10,000 for 24 hours. In our business, customers are paying $10,000 for just one hour. Further on from hospitality, only one thing our loyal customers seek: the same concept and a similar level of hospitality anywhere in the world they go to. They discovered this at Jetex, fell in love with it, and now request from us regardless of where they travel. While some locations have certain restrictions in terms of facility size, we promise the same high level of service globally, from Paris to Dubai to Singapore, Marrakech, Abidjan, and beyond.

Who is the Jetex customer?

We cater to travelers of all generations. We certainly look after the older, traditional client profile; however, we see more younger private jet travelers who work in IT, entertainment, and e-commerce. The new Jetex travelers appreciate comfort, convenience, the latest in technology and fashion &ndash; this is the Jetex brand&#39;s DNA. Jetex surprises and delights all travelers every time they pass through a Jetex private jet terminal &ndash; this is the foundation of our success.

With that in mind, what is it that your customer wants, exactly?

All of our customers seek a seamless experience, where everything is considered. They want to be surprised and delighted along the way. That is why Jetex has redefined its approach to hospitality and service. We merge luxury hospitality and private aviation. When passengers arrive at our terminal from a penthouse or a palace that costs a minimum of $25 million and then flying in a private jet that costs another $25-30 million, I will ensure that their journey is seamless. They truly enjoy a sophisticated lifestyle, and then they get to a private jet terminal, and it all stops? It might be only 15 meters from the terminal entrance to the door of the aircraft. Still, to create a truly thoughtful connection, we offer the finest hospitality, exceptional amenities and use Rolls-Royce cars for airside transportation. In fact, we are the only ones using Rolls-Royce in private aviation, and today we have the biggest fleet anywhere in the world. Our passengers have exceptionally high standards, all of them are individuals, and we truly recognize that.

Do you have interesting offers for your high valued clients?

During the recent health crisis, we saw more travelers turning to private aviation. We are confident that many of them will become our loyal customers now that they have discovered the benefits of flying private. Many of our travelers already say: &quot;Hey, maybe I&#39;m not flying six times a year, maybe I&#39;m flying three or four times, so I&#39;ll shift my spending to make sure I&#39;m flying conveniently on a private jet.&#39; Jetex has also established partnerships with selected luxury hotels, resorts, and safari lodges around the world which are small and private for our customers to enjoy holidays without worrying about their health and safety &ndash; something they are accustomed to and appreciate in private aviation. We were also the first to launch the jet-to-yacht program with bespoke itineraries in the Mediterranean, in the Caribbean, and beyond. We are currently working on several innovative concepts that will elevate luxury travel to the next level, so watch this space!
